Wagyu means “japanese cattle” and stands for an exceptional breed from Japan. The breed is also known as “Kobe-Rind” or “Kobe beef”, but this name is just eligible for animals born, raised, fattened and butchered in Kobe area in the prefecture of Hyogo in Japan. Usually Wagyu cattle are black, but there are also red ones. They are a medium-sized breed, weighting between 600kg and 1000kg depending on their sex.
